San Diego, Day One
07.14.05
Well, I got up before dawn, took a plane to LA, rented a Mustang Convertible, drove down to San Diego, got a little bit of a sunburn, checked in at the Hotel, checked in at the convention, freaked out at the sheer SIZE AND SCOPE of the San Diego con, talked to my editor for ArchEnemies, sat in on two panels about pitching cartoon ideas that made me feel smug and self-satisfied, then sat down to dinner at a Thai restaurant with my editor where they lit my chicken on fire (on purpose, I think), then came back to the hotel and set up my wireless connection, and now here I am.
Next week, I get paid. Soon after that, if not sooner, I'll be able to make "the announcement." (Or maybe they'll make it for me.)
And I've still got a few days left to see the sites, catch all the cool panels, find out all the latest news, and take in a Padres game.
Here's some video of the Mustang:
If you are good little children, tomorrow I will bring you video of the Mustang roof opening up.
