The Rumor are False
Yes, the Raimi rumor (or the "Raimir" as I like to call it) is, itself, true. You can check out the article on Zap2it.com for the full details, and I'm sure there'll be an official press release from Dark Horse coming soon.
But if you see this quote, which I think was written by someone on the international news wire service...
- Drew Melbourne, who created the illustrated odd couple, told Zap2it.com Monday that the story line should appeal to an audience that likes both comic book fantasy and mundane chores required in getting along with people.
...and which was eventually picked up by such reputable international news sites as the International News Service (Australia), Playfuls.com (Romania), North Korea Times (North Korea), Political Gateway (Florida), DailyIndia.com (New York, apparently), and the frickin' Washington Times???
Well, that's what I would describe as "a less than accurate piece of reportage." If anyone can point out where I said anything remotely like that in the Zap2it article that they all cite, I'd greatly appreciate it.
For the record, I don't think audiences who like "mundane chores required in getting along with people" are a significant percentage of movie-goers, and neither the ARCHENEMIES comic nor the upcoming film version are targeted to that particular demographic.
A lost opportunity? Perhaps. But let's be honest: Who's got time for comics or movies when there are compulsory chores to be done?
New Site
ARCHENEMIES #1-4 are on the stands, and the San Diego con has come and gone. So what's that mean, kids? That's right!
It's time for a new site design. It's not quite finished, so if you find a broken link here or there, my apologies in advance.
If you're looking for anything in particular, and you can't find it with the search tool, drop me an email via the link above.
Enjoy!
